Barbaros Sayilir

Barbaros Sayilir (born October 25, 1988 ) is a German sitting volleyball player and national player from Düren .

The office clerk has played as an attacker in the volleyball team at Bayer 04 Leverkusen since 2005 . With this club he was able to achieve many successes, namely

  • German champion: 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012
  • European Championship (EM) Hungary 2007 / Poland 2009 / Netherlands 2011: each bronze medal
  • Junior European Championship Leverkusen 2008: bronze medal
  • Junior World Championships 2007 in Brazil / 2009 in Iran: each bronze medal
  • World Cup Egypt 2010: silver medal
  • European Cup 2011 in Elblag (POL): bronze medal
  • Paralympics London 2012 : bronze medal
  • Participation in the Paralympics Rio de Janeiro 2016

For winning the bronze medal at the Paralympic Games in 2012, he received the silver laurel leaf from Federal President Joachim Gauck on November 7, 2012 .

Sayilir lost his left leg in a traffic accident when he was 2 years old.
