Barbudo is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Barbudo belongs to the Vila Verde county in the Braga district . The municipality had an area of 4.4 km² and 2400 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Barbudo and Vila Verde were merged to form the new municipality of Vila Verde e Barbudo .
