Equistone Partners Europe (formerly Barclays Private Equity ) is a European private equity firm based in London with offices in England, France, Switzerland and Germany, which was formed in 2011 through a spin-off from the British bank Barclays .

Companies

Barclays Private Equity, founded in 1979 by Barclays Bank, invested primarily in SMEs with a turnover of between 50 and 500 million euros. Since the European regulatory authorities have been pushing for a higher equity base for investment companies since the financial crisis after 2007 , several European banks have made their private equity branches independent. In November 2011, Barclays announced the spin-off of Barclays Private Equity through a management buy-out , the new name of the company becoming Equistone Partners Europe .

In addition to agencies in England (London, Manchester and Birmingham), there are branches in France (Paris), Germany (Munich, since 1998) and Switzerland (Zurich). The France division is headed by Guillaume Jacqueau in Paris, Great Britain by Rob Myers in London and the DACH region by Dirk Schekerka in Munich.
