The Bardin Bluffs are imposing cliffs in the Prince Charles Mountains of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . On the north side of the Pagodroma Gorge they rise 3 km southwest of the entrance to the valley on Beaver Lake .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after the Soviet geoscientist W. I. Bardin, who had carried out pioneering studies on glacial geology in the Prince Charles Mountains as part of several campaigns of Soviet Antarctic expeditions .
