The Pagodroma Gorge is a steep-walled gorge in the Prince Charles Mountains of the east Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It is 3 miles long and connects Radok Lake with Beaver Lake .
Aerial photos of the gorge were taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . It was first committed between January and February 1969 by the Australian geologist Alex Medvecky. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named them after the snow petrels ( Pagodroma nivea ), which use the weathered rock of the canyon walls as a breeding area.
