Baron Capell is a hereditary title of nobility awarded twice in the Peerage of England .

Awards

On August 5, 1641, the title of Baron Capell , of Hadham in the County of Hertford was bestowed on Arthur Capell . His eldest son, the second baron, was raised to Earl of Essex and Viscount Malden , of Malden in the County of Essex on April 20, 1661 . The barony is to this day a subordinate title of the earldom.

The younger son of the 1st Baron Capell of Hadham, Henry Capell , was awarded the title Baron Capell , of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester on April 11, 1692 . The title expired when he died childless in 1696.
