Baron Rodney
Baron Rodney , of Rodney Stoke in the County of Somerset , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Great Britain .
The title was created on June 19, 1782 for the naval admiral and politician Sir George Brydges Rodney, 1st Baronet , who, among other things , had represented various constituencies as a member of the House of Commons between 1751 and 1782 with several interruptions . He had already been awarded the subordinate title Baronet , of Alresford in the County of Southampton on January 22, 1764 . His son George Rodney, 2nd Baron Rodney represented the constituency of Northampton in the House of Commons from 1780 to 1784 , while his son George Rodney, 3rd Baron Rodney between 1804 and 1842 was also Lord Lieutenant of Radnorshire .
