Baron Sandford

Baron Sandford is a hereditary British title of nobility awarded twice in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Awards

For the first time on January 20, 1891, the title of Baron Sandford , of Sandford in the County of Salop , was created for the former Parliamentary Secretary in the Department of Education Sir Francis Sandford . The title expired when he died childless on December 31, 1893.

In the second bestowal on July 14, 1945, the title of Baron Sandford , of Banbury in the County of Oxford , was created for the Conservative House of Commons Sir James Edmondson , on the occasion of his resignation from the office of Treasurer of the Household . Today's title holder has been his grandson James Edmondson, who lives in Canada, as 3rd Baron since 2009 .

The heir ( Heir Apparent ) is the son of the current title holder, Hon. Devon Edmondson (* 1986).
