Baron Templemore

Baron Templemore , of Templemore in the County of Donegal , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

The name refers to a civil parish in what is now Derry , County Londonderry , Northern Ireland , and not to the better-known town of Templemore in County Tipperary .

Award

The title was created on September 10, 1831 for Arthur Chichester , who had sat in the House of Commons as MP for Milborne Port and County Wexford . This was a grandson of Arthur Chichester, 1st Marquess of Donegall († 1799).

The fifth Baron Templemore inherited the title of Marquess of Donegall from his 4th uncle in 1975 . Since then, the barony has been listed as a subordinate title to the Marquess.

The heir ( Heir apparent ) is the eldest son of the current title holder, James Arthur Chichester, Earl of Belfast (* 1990).
