Barpy Alykulow (Барпы Алыкулов; * 1884 in Achi, Susak district ; † November 9, 1949 ) was a Kyrgyz - Soviet Akyn improviser. He was one of the famous poets of the Kyrgyz people .

biography

Barpy Alykulov was the son of a poor family. At the age of 16, the singer and poet became known as an Akyn improviser. His pre-revolutionary songs dealt with the plight of the Kyrgyz people. Later he wrote poems and songs on the topics of socialist construction. Alykulov's songs were recorded on sound carriers from 1943 onwards. Most of them have been translated into Russian. He is considered a master of poetic form and a successor to Toktogul Satylganov . Alykulov wrote accusatory and satirical works, including a poem about the difficult rule of the Kokand Khanate over the Kyrgyz people.
