description

The church is located in a small scattered settlement in the north of Barra, off the A888 . It is located in the southwest corner of a cemetery, which is enclosed by a stone wall. The cemetery is entered through a simple gate to the right of the church.

The construction work took place between 1829 and 1834 according to a design by the local architect Peter Dawson from 1825. It is a simple, elongated building plastered with Harl . Four arched windows are built into the east side, while the west side has no windows. The building ends with a slate-covered gable roof , on the southern gable of which sits a small bell tower. In the south there is a lower entrance area, which is entered through a round arched door in the south facade. The building was renovated in 1982. The pastor once lived in the rectory Cuither House to the west .
