Barra Point (Gambia)

The Cape Barra Point is located on the coast of Gambia in West Africa , at the mouth of the River Gambia to the Atlantic Ocean near the town of Barra on the northern riverbank. It is provided with a beacon .

In 1826, Fort Bullen was built in this strategically favorable position and is still in ruins today.
