Barry Jones (boxer)
Barry Jones (* 3. May 1974 in Cardiff , Wales ) is a former British boxers in the super featherweight division .
professional
He made his professional debut against fellow countryman Conn McMullen in 1992. In April 1997 he defeated Peter Judson by a split point decision and thus won the IBF Inter-Continental Title . On December 19 of the same year, he captured the vacant WBO world title when he unanimously beat the Colombian Wilson Palacio on points.
However, he lost the title to Acelino Freitas in his first title defense in 2001 . This fight was also his last.
