Bartholomew of Arianz
Bartholomaios von Arianz , real name Ioannis Kessidis (born August 12, 1968 in Kastoria ) is auxiliary bishop of the Greek Orthodox metropolis of Germany of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople .
Life
Bartholomaios studied chemistry at the University of Bonn and theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki . On March 4, 1995 he was ordained a deacon and in the same year appointed archdeacon of the metropolitan area of Germany. On September 8, 1996, he was ordained a priest by Augoustinos of Germany and made an archimandrite . Afterwards he was pastor of the Greek Orthodox parish of the Holy Prophet Elias in Frankfurt a. M.
After his bishop's election on May 25, 2004 by the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, he was elected on June 10, 2004 in the Church of the Holy Prophet Elias in Frankfurt a. M. consecrated bishop.
