The Latin chronicle of Bartošek von Drahenice describes the years 1419–1443. It does not describe the overall situation at that time, but only what the chronicler saw and heard. Although he fought on the royal side, the description is objective. This chronicle has often been criticized as being primitive with no political or artistic foresight. On the other hand, it is the only Bohemian chronicle of that time. Because of this, it is an important source describing the Hussite period . The chronicle also contains short messages about individual years (1310–1464), some of which are believed to have come from Bartošek.
