Bartolomé Castagnola

Bartolomé "Lolo" Castagnola (born June 16, 1970 in Lomas de Zamora , Province of Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine polo player . He's one of the best players in the world and usually plays in 4th position.

Life

Bartolomé Castagnola began to play polo seriously when he took lessons at La Martina polo school at the age of 14, where he met Adolfo Cambiaso . In 1988 he started playing overseas and won the San Diego Open with Marcelo Caset. Since then, he has won the Sotogrande Gold Cup, the US Open, the USPA Gold Cup, the Queens Cup and the Hurlingham Open, along with countless other tournaments.

Up to and including 2007 he took part in the Argentine Open 14 times , won six times and reached the final three times.

He played for teams like La Martina, Ellerstina, Outback and Dubai and can be seen at tournaments in Argentina, Spain, Dubai, England and Australia. Together with Adolfo Cambiaso he founded the La Dolfina Polo Team .

Castagnola is married to Camila Cambiaso, Adolfo's sister, and has 3 sons (Bartolito, Camilo, Benicio). In addition to his work as a polo player, he also breeds horses.
