Josep Maria Bartomeu Floreta (born February 6, 1963 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish businessman and President of FC Barcelona since January 23, 2014 .

career

Josep Maria Bartomeu has been a member of FC Barcelona since 1974 and was a member of the board of directors of FC Barcelona for the first time between 2003 and 2005, where he was responsible for basketball . From 2010 he served as Vice President under President Sandro Rosell and was responsible for the sports department. In early 2014, it was revealed that the transfer fee for Neymar was far higher than Rosell had stated. As a result, Rosell resigned and Bartomeu took his position on January 23rd until the end of the 2016 fiscal period.

Bartomeu is also a managing board member of the ADELTE Group , a company for port and airport technology, as well as Equipo Facility Services (EFS), a company for system maintenance and mechatronic devices.

On July 18, 2015, Bartomeu was re-elected as President of FC Barcelona. He prevailed against Joan Laporta with 60% of the vote.
