The basalt Point is a headland on the south coast of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the southwestern extension of Point Hennequin on the east bank of Admiralty Bay .
Polish scientists named it after a basalt promontory discovered here between 1977 and 1978 .
