The Isfahan Bazaar ( Persian بازار اصفهان[ bɑzɑɾ ɛ ɛsfɑhɑn ]) or also Basar-e-Bosorg of Isfahan ([ bɑzɑɾ ɛ bozoɾɡ ɛ ɛsfɑhɑn ]بازار بزرگ اصفهان, 'The Grand Bazaar of Isfahan') is one of the most important sights in Isfahan . It connects the Shah Mosque with the Friday Mosque . The bazaar is one of the largest in Iran and was mostly built in the 16th century. However, some parts date from the 8th century.
The bazaar has many entrance halls , its main entrance being the Qeyssarie Gate on the north side of Meidān-e Naghsch-e Jahan Square. The high gate is decorated by Reza Abbasi with ceramic tiles and frescoes depicting Abbas I's war with the Uzbeks .
The bazaar is like an exhibition of architectural styles at different times after the introduction of Islam in Iran.
