The 2010 Women's Baseball World Cup was the fourth edition of this women's baseball competition and took place in Caracas from August 12 to 22, 2010 . After an incident on the second day in which a Hong Kong player was shot, all games were moved to Maracay . The Hong Kong team withdrew from the tournament. (see also: Participants Hong Kong ). A total of eleven teams took part in the tournament.
The opening ceremony took place on August 12, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Estadio José A. Casanova in Caracas.
The team won the title from Japan and was able to defend the title from the previous year.

Most of the referees came from Venezuela, but with the exception of the Netherlands and Japan, every participating nation had a referee sent to Caracas.
Preliminary round
The three best teams in each group qualified for group C of the intermediate round, the other teams for group D.
