Bashkim Fino

Bashkim Fino (born October 12, 1962 in Tirana ) is an Albanian politician ( PS ). Between March 9, 1997 and June 29, 1997 he was the 5th  Prime Minister of Albania and headed a transitional government during the lottery uprising .

Life

Bashkim Fino studied economics at the University of Tirana and in the USA . After his training he worked in this area in Gjirokastra . In 1992 he became mayor there.

Fino is a member of the Socialist Party of Albania (PS) . During the lottery uprising in 1997, he headed a broad-based transitional government and prepared the new elections that had been announced to calm the situation. On June 29, his party won a comfortable majority and Fino was replaced as prime minister by party chairman Fatos Nano . He held ministerial offices in many of the subsequent governments. At times he was also a board member of the Socialist Party.

Private

He is married with two children and lives in Tirana.
