Basilio Salazar , also known by the nickname Bacho , is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly acted in defense or defensive midfield and after his active career temporarily worked as a soccer coach .

career

The Tampiqueño played for CF Monterrey from 1972 to 1978 and scored the 1,000th first division goal in their club's history in his final 1977/78 season with the Rayados . With his equalizer on November 20, 1977 in the Aztec Stadium in Mexico City against the host América , who had already been leading 2-0 at the break, Salazar still ensured the points.

In the following two seasons Salazar was (again?) For his hometown club Club Deportivo Tampico and coached the Jaibas Bravas twice briefly as a coach after the end of his active career; first he tried in the outstanding six games of the 1981/82 season (including the relegation ) to avoid the relegation of Club Deportivo Tampico from the top division. This project failed in a sporting way, but the new owner of the club, which has since been trading as Tampico-Madero FC , acquired the first division license of the economically troubled Atletas Campesinos and was thus able to secure the stay in the first division for another eight years. In the first half of the 1987/88 season Salazar took over the post of head coach for three interim games.
