Bath is a settlement on the island of Nevis , in the island state of St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean .
geography
The settlement is located in the Parish Saint John Figtree on the west coast of the island, just south of Charlestown and near the south end of Gallows Bay .
The place gets its name from a large hot spring that feeds the Bath Stream and has been used as a therapeutic bath for centuries. In the 18th century (1778) the Bath Hotel , an elegant hotel with a two-story stone bath house, was built. The main hotel building has recently been restored and is currently (2020) used as an office building.
