Battered is a Norwegian thrash metal band that emerged from the band Einherjer in 2004 .
Band history
After Einherjer's dissolution in 2004, ex-members Gerhard Storesund (drums), Frode Glesnes (guitar) and Aksel Herløe (guitar) founded the band Battered. The line-up was completed by the headblock musicians Ole Moldesæther (bass) and Siggy Olaisen (vocals). After the demo ... Beyond Recognition , the band signed a recording deal with Candlelight Records . The only self-titled album to date was released there in 2006. The band then signed with Tabu Recordings, but work on the successor has so far fizzled out. Einherjer have also existed again since 2009.
Music genre
In contrast to Einherjer, Battered no longer focuses on Nordic mythology . Rather, the band deals with modern topics, for example the question of the meaning of life and the everyday struggle for survival. Musically, the band also distances itself from Viking Metal or Hardcore Punk / Grindcore of earlier days and plays simple, but modern Thrash Metal with battered.
