Bauerbacher Cross
The so-called Bauer Bacher cross on the county road 35 between Bauerbach and Schrock is a stone cross from sandstone which is particularly to Ascension is visited. It was built in 2001 by the city of Marburg . The previously located wayside cross, which was erected in 1902 by Pastor Ingnaz Christian Danz (born January 11, 1833, Salmünster; † April 21, 1919, Schröck), had to be removed due to weather-related destruction. Object description
The cross of the ways shows Jesus Christ crucified. There are two young poplars on the sides . The old poplars that had previously been there, which were planted by Hauptlehrer Keller in 1952, were felled in September 2009 due to fungal attack. In the base there is a chiseled inscription with the text: “Do not look for any other path than this royal path of the Holy Cross. Imitation. Chr. II 12.6. "
