The farmhouse museum of the district of Erding has set itself the task of presenting the historical rural economy and way of life in the district of Erding in Upper Bavaria.
Using individual historical buildings and a courtyard, the living and working conditions from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century are presented.
Monuments from various communities in the district were implemented on an area of around 2 hectares. The focus of the open-air museum is the small-scale farm from Rindbach (also Rindbeck, district of Gatterberg in the municipality of St. Wolfgang ).
history
In December 1985, the "Am Entenweiher" plot of land on Taufkirchener Strasse was taken over by the district of Erding on a lease basis as the building site for the future museum .
The museum was opened on October 14, 1989. In September 1992, with the completion of the courtyard from Rindbach, St. Wolfgang parish , the construction of the museum was largely completed. But after that there were extensions.
