Gatterberg is a district of the municipality of St. Wolfgang ( district of Erding ), with which a series of hamlets and wastelands between the parts of the municipality Jeßling and Schönbrunn is designated. The Rimbach rises near Wies in Gatterberg . Gatterberg is also a colloquial synonym for the landscape in and around Gatterberg, which is correctly referred to as Gattergebirge .

history

Gatterberg historically belonged to the county of Haag and later to the district of Wasserburg am Inn . Although there was or is no place with that name, it was an independent municipality that was incorporated into St. Wolfgang on April 1, 1971 .

The former municipality of Gatterberg had a municipal area of 575.67 hectares in 1961 and consisted of 22 localities: the hamlets of Frühmanstett , Burdberg , Gänsberg , Gassen , Hundsruck and Schedenberg , as well as the desert areas of Arbesstett , Brandstett , Brenner , Geigersöd , Grub , Hauderstett , Hilgen , Hütter , Irlmaier (connected to Hundsruck), Irlwirth , Lechner , Rindbach , Rudorfer , Schloifer , Wies , Zeilhub and Zulehen . The hamlet of Burdberg (historically also Buschberg ) on the eastern border of the former municipality was the most populous place in 1961.

The small-scale farm complex from Rindbach (Rindbeck) from 1790 was converted into the farmhouse museum of the district of Erding and is the focus of the museum there.

As of December 31, 2011, the places in the Gatterberg district had a total of 163 inhabitants. Based on the area mentioned above, this results in a population density of 29.0 inhabitants per km². In 1961 there were still 233 inhabitants in the community of Gatterberg, in 1970 there were 212.

The district is the namesake for the water procurement association, which supplies the entire municipality of Sankt Wolfgang with drinking water. The Gatterberg volunteer fire brigade, founded in 1877, continued to exist after the community was dissolved.

Gatterberg should not be confused with the Gattererberg district of Stummerberg in Tyrol .

Attractions

The Antonius Chapel west of the Rudorfer wasteland is the only sacred building in this part of the community. The building, built by Anton Singer in 1902, is privately owned and renovated in 2006. Since then, a May service has been held there every year on May 1st. There used to be a procession to the chapel every year at Pentecost.

Further architectural monuments have been identified for Grub and Wies. See the list of architectural monuments in Sankt Wolfgang (Upper Bavaria) .

politics

After the Second World War, the CSU in Gatterberg was able to achieve some of the highest results in old Bavaria at the time with 61.9% (1949) and 58.9% (1950). Today Gatterberg forms together with Schönbrunn an electoral or voting district. In the state elections in 2008, the CSU received 75%, free voters 7.5% and the FDP 6.9% of the second votes. In the 2009 Bundestag elections, the CSU won 71.1% of the second vote in this common constituency, followed by the FDP with 9.8%.

The CSU local association Gatterberg-Schönbrunn, which with around 5% of the population is one of the strongest local associations in the Free State in terms of percentage, supports the non-party "voter group Gatterberg / Free voter community Schönbrunn" in the municipal elections in order to ensure that the interests of the two districts are represented in the Wolfgang municipal council .
