Jeßling is part of the municipality and the district of St. Wolfgang ( district of Erding ). The hamlet lies between the districts of St. Wolfgang, Armstorf, Großschwindau, Pyramoos and Gatterberg on the western slopes of the Gattergebirge .

history

Jeßling historically belonged to the county of Haag and later to the district of Wasserburg am Inn . It was incorporated into St. Wolfgang on April 1, 1971 and, like this municipality, has been part of the Erding district since July 1, 1972.

The former community Jeßling with a community area of ​​891.39 hectares (1961) belonged to a total of 28 localities until 1971: the hamlets Jeßling, Gumpenstätt, Klaus, Mammersreit, Schmidberg, Steinbach, Thal and Wernhardsberg as well as the desert areas Anzenberg, Aschau, Baier, Deyern, Eichholz, Eisenberg, Freiling, Friedenheim, Grabenstätt, Hammer am Berg, Herrnwies, Hohmanstett, Holz, Holznachbarn, Leitmannstätt, Neuwies, Reitermann, Schachen, Weizenbach and Wohlmannstätt.

The largest hamlets are the former community seat Jeßling, Klaus and Wernhardsberg (with the Wolfgang retirement home).
