Bauernheinrich

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bauernheinrich is a card game for four people. It is widespread in the fishing landscape in Schleswig-Holstein , according to other sources in the Hüttener Berge area ( Holzbunge ). Its origin is unknown. It is played with a normal Skat sheet. The winner is whoever has discarded all cards before the other players. The special thing about this game is that every player has his own trump suit and therefore everyone can take a different suit.

Card value

The card value is ascending in the following way: 7, 8, 9, 10, queen, king, ace. The pawns (jacks) have a special position as general trumps and are in value above all other cards. The value of the pawns is in ascending order: diamonds, hearts, spades, clubs. Thus the pawn of diamonds can cut all cards except for the other pawns. The pawn of hearts can take all cards except for the pawn of spades and the pawn of clubs, the pawn of spades tricks all cards except for the pawn of clubs; the latter is the highest card in the game.

Game preparation

The cards are shuffled and dealt face down to all players (clockwise, 3 - 2 - 3 cards) so that everyone has eight cards in hand. They are kept hidden from the other players. Now it is determined which player has which trump suit. The player with the ace of clubs reports clubs as his trump (e.g. with the words "Here is clubs!"). In clockwise order, the other players have spades, hearts and diamonds as the trump suit, regardless of the cards they actually have in hand.

Game flow

This game is about getting rid of cards. The player with the ace of clubs begins and puts a card of his choice face up on the table. The game is played clockwise. The next player has the following options:

  • Place (operate) a higher card of the same suit on it;
  • Trick with a trump (in this case a spade card or a pawn) - if spades have been played, the trump card placed on it must be higher;
  • pick up the still incomplete trick, in this case the individual card.

If the trick is taken, it is the next player's turn to display a card. If a second card is placed, the next player (trump suit heart) must again place a card on it. The last card placed is always used or stabbed. On the other hand, the whole trick is always taken, i.e. up to three cards. Whoever cannot operate or prick has to pick up the sting.

A maximum of as many cards are placed per trick as there are people in play. This means: When the fourth card is placed, the player who placed the fourth card takes these four cards (the trick) out of the game and it is his turn to display a new card. If one player has run out of cards and thus has won, the others continue to play and from then on it is re-issued after the third card. In the case of the last two players, there are still two cards per trick. Attention: If a trick is started with four players and during the trick one player places his last card, the started trick is played to the end with four cards. Only the following trick is then full with three cards. The same applies if the next player is eliminated.

It is always played to the end until the last two players have played out fourth place among themselves. The cards have no point value and the remaining cards of the last player are not taken into account. So there are no tournaments in which an overall winner is determined from a large number of games.

Tricks and tricks

  • At the beginning of the game, it is wise to get rid of the cards that are not of great value to yourself. These are, for example, the other players' low trumps.
  • High trumps of the person in front or even the person in front (i.e. the opposite) can be valuable if you have to use the card with which these players stabbed.
  • The jacks are fundamentally of great value to all players, as they cannot be won even with your own trump card. Jacks can be played specifically to force other players to pick up the cards and thereby keep them in play.
  • The same applies to the high trump cards of the man behind, with which you can move the player to pick up, especially when placing the first trick card (coming out). But be careful! Recording from the person behind is also an advantage for the other person, who then comes out freely.
  • At the beginning of the game, it can be helpful to pick up trumps without having to, in order to have a better hand for the rest of the game.
