The Bauverein der Elbgemeinden eG (BVE) was founded on August 11, 1899 and has developed into one of the largest housing cooperatives in Hamburg. It currently has 14,116 apartments and 22,253 members (as of December 31, 2019).
The core area of the BVE's housing stock is in the west of Hamburg. a. in the districts of Iserbrook and Sülldorf . The headquarters of the housing company is also located in Sülldorf, on Heidrehmen street near the Iserbrook S-Bahn station. The cooperative now has apartments in all districts of Hamburg as well as in Norderstedt , Pinneberg and Seevetal .
