Bavarian regional association for hiking and homeland service
The Bavarian State Association for Wander- und Heimatdienst , abbreviated LVW , was founded on June 1, 1934 as a corporation under public law and existed until 1945. It was affiliated with the health department of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior . He was responsible for outpatient and inpatient compulsory care facilities. The initiative for this came from Alarich Seidler , former head of the Bavarian aid train.
Until 1996, a file was in the Herzogsägmühle welfare facility near Peiting , where parts of the administration were located and which served as the central point of contact for new admissions. Over 10,000 "inmate files" have been preserved. The “anti-social index” was created according to eugenic criteria .
The LVW included six hiking yards:
- Central hiking farm Herzogsägmühle , Peiting
- Wanderhof Bischofsried , Dießen am Ammersee
- Wanderhof Gundelfingen , Gundelfingen on the Danube
- Wanderhof Schernau / Pfalz , Martinshöhe
- Wanderhof Silbermühle , near Nuremberg
- Wanderhof Simonshof , Upper Franconia
