Beat Koch (born July 27, 1972 in Langnau im Emmental ) is a former Swiss cross-country skier .
Career
Koch, who started for SC Marbach , ran his first of a total of 36 individual World Cup races in Davos in December 1993 , which he finished in 119th place over 15 km freestyle. He got his first World Cup points in March 1997 in Oslo with the 28th place over 50 km freestyle. At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , he took 53rd place over 30 km classic, 17th place over 10 km classic and sixth place with the relay. The following year he came at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein on 36th place over 10 km classic and in the subsequent pursuit, 22nd place over 50 km classic and ninth place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti he achieved 51st place over 30 km classic and 36th place over 15 km classic. In January 2003 in Oberstdorf he achieved 17th place in the 15 km mass start race, his best placement in the individual World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Fiemme Valley , he took 33rd place over 15 km classic, 16th place in the 30 km mass start race and fifth place with the relay. In Oberstdorf in February 2005 he came in 15th place with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships . He ran his last World Cup race in Davos in February 2006 and finished 74th over 15 km classic.
Koch became Swiss champion over 10 km in 1997 and champion over 30 km in 1999. He ended his career after the 2005/06 season.
