Beate Lobenstein (born December 20, 1970 ), married Beate Moros-Lobenstein , is a former German swimmer. She took part in the Summer Paralympics in 1992 , 1996 and 2000 .

Life

Lobenstein swam for the Magdeburg clubs BSG Aufbau Börde and later for the club for sports therapy and disabled sports in 1980 (VSB 1980). The handicapped due to paralysis of the right arm swam over 50 and 100 meters freestyle, over 200 meters medley as well as 100 meters chest and 100 meters back.

At the Paralympics in 1992, she became Olympic champion in the 100 meter medley relay and won the silver medal in the 200 meter freestyle and the bronze medal in the 100 meter freestyle relay. In 1996 she achieved a silver medal with the individual relay relay at the Summer Paralympics. She won bronze in the individual medley relay at the 1998 World Cup. At the European Championships in 1999 she won gold in the 100 meter freestyle relay and bronze over 100 meters back.

In total, she won 91 medals at national and international championships.

Awards

In 1992, Beate Lobenstein was voted Sportswoman of the Year in Saxony-Anhalt . On June 23, 1993, she received the Silver Laurel Leaf for her athletic achievements . In 1996 and 2001 Lobenstein entered the city ​​of Magdeburg's Golden Book . A star was placed in her honor on the Magdeburg Sports Walk of Fame on the Breite Weg .
