Beate Sost-Scheible

Beate Sost-Scheible (born April 1, 1956 ) is a German lawyer and a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2001 .

Life

Sost-Scheible began her legal career in 1983 as a probationary judge and public prosecutor at the Böblingen District Court , the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office and the Stuttgart Regional Court . In 1986 she became a public prosecutor for life at the Stuttgart public prosecutor's office. From 1988 to 1992 she was seconded to the Stuttgart District Court , where she first worked at the family court and then as a criminal judge. From 1993 to 1996 she was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant, and then to the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court. In March 1997 she was appointed judge at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court. At the Higher Regional Court in Stuttgart she was used in a criminal senate and was ultimately deputy chairwoman of the senate.

On September 5, 2001, she was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and was a member of the 3rd Criminal Senate of the Federal Court of Justice . The 3rd Criminal Senate deals primarily with state security offenses . Since September 2005 she has also been the first representative of the press spokesperson for the Federal Supreme Court. At the end of 2005 she was being discussed as the successor to Attorney General Kay Nehm . On June 25, 2013, she was appointed presiding judge. The Presidium of the Federal Court of Justice gave her the chairmanship of the 4th Criminal Senate , which, among other things, is solely responsible for revisions in traffic criminal matters.
