Beatrix von Falkenburg
Beatrix von Falkenburg (* 1253 ; † October 17, 1277 ) was the third wife of the Roman-German King Richard of Cornwall .
Beatrix was the daughter of Dietrich II von Heinsberg and Falkenburg (Dutch Valkenburg) and thus niece of the Archbishop of Cologne Engelbert II von Falkenburg , who supported Richard's claims of Cornwall in the Interregnum . On June 16, 1269 Beatrix was married in Kaiserslautern to Richard of Cornwall, whose first two wives had died. Beatrix was only 16 years old; her husband 44 years older. The marriage was short-lived as her husband passed away three years after the wedding. The couple had no children. Beatrix died five years after her husband. She was only 23 years old and was buried in the Friars Minor Church in Oxford .
