Life

Professional background

After completing several studies and working as a journalist for more than ten years , Gutiérrez studied literary theory at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and received her doctorate with her thesis Héroes y voces en “La constancia y paciencia del santo Job” de Francisco de Quevedo . She published several volumes devoted to earlier Central American poets such as Poesías. Manuscript 1889–1899 de Rodulfo Figueroa , Antología Poética de Solón Argüello and Rogelio Fernández Güell - Episodios de la revolución mexicana . She also wrote novels and poems. In her novel Larga vida al Sol ( Spanish for Long Live the Sun ), published in 2011 , she tells the story of a people who lived in harmony for 74 years, until an eclipse of Venus led to a rift, as a result of which the people finally died out. Both her next novel Viejo siglo nuevo ( Old New Century ) and her study Dos revolucionarios a la sombra de Madero ( Two Revolutionaries in the Shadow of Maderos ) deal with the Mexican Revolution in general and Francisco Madero in particular.

With her book Tepic literario, Revista Mensual de literatura, variedades y anuncios (1907) , published in 2018 , she again deals with the work of Solón Argüello, who was a driving force at Madero's side and wanted to bring his readers closer to the liberal zeitgeist.

family

Probably in 2004 Gutiérrez met her current husband, whose first wife Rocío Beltrán Medina had died a year earlier due to illness. The couple married in 2006 and their son came in 2007.

As her second family name Müller reveals, her mother's ancestors (Nora Beatriz Müller Bentjerodt) have German family roots . Their parents (Adolf Müller and Bertha Bentjerodt) married on February 9, 1939 in Valdivia , a town in southern Chile . Adolf Müller, who had spent part of his life in Germany, among other places, was born in Mexico, where his father Walter Müller (thus a great-grandfather of Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller) emigrated in the 1890s.
