Beaver County is a so-called municipal district in the Central Alberta region in the Canadian province of Alberta . It is within the Census Division No. 10.

Beaver County has 5,905 inhabitants and an area of ​​3,317.57 km² (as of 2016). The administrative seat is Ryley with 483 inhabitants (2016). The largest places are the city of Tofield with 2,081 inhabitants and the city of Viking with 1,083 inhabitants (as of 2016).

history

Beaver County was established as an administrative unit in 1943. The Municipal District has the term County in its name, although this type of administrative unit was abolished in Alberta in 1999. The official name changed from "County of Beaver No. 9" to "Beaver County".
