Bebryke
Bebryke ( Greek Βεβρύκη ) or Bryke ( Βρύκη ) is in Greek mythology an eponymous heroine and Danaide .
In the library of Apollodorus , Bryke is the daughter of Danaos and the Naiad Polyxo . She is the bride of the Aegyptid Chthonios , whom she murdered on their wedding night.
With Stephanos of Byzantium , Bebryke is the namesake of the Bithynian tribe of the Bebrykers . Eustathios of Thessalonike calls this Bebryke daughter of Danaos and bride of Hippolytos , whom she did not murder, but with whom she fled to Bithynia. There she taught the barbarians Egyptian wisdom, which gave her great prestige.
