Bebryker (Bithynia)
The Bebrykers or Bebrykes ( Greek Βεβρύκης ) were a tribe of Asia Minor who settled in Bithynia and Mysia .
The region was called Bebrykia until the 8th century BC. The Bithynians invaded and destroyed the people. According to Strabo , the Bebryk were of Thracian origin.
In the legend, depending on the source, the hero Bebryx or the Danaide Bebryke are named as namesake . The people are best known from the Argonauts legend, where Polydeukes defeated the Bebryk king Amykos in a fist fight.
