The Bedorfer Mühle is a watermill in the village of Villip in the municipality of Wachtberg in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It also bears the names Broicher Mühle and Villiper Mühle .

history

The mill was first mentioned in a document in 886. At this time, the monks of the Eifel monastery Abbey Prüm signed a so-called precarious contract , in which the mill is mentioned as the subject of an exchange transaction. In this contract, which was typical of the early Middle Ages , a noble belonging to the Carolingian imperial nobility by the name of Hartmann received from the Reichskloster Prüm possessions in Rheinhessen , Lahngau and Auelgau for lifelong usufruct.
