The Begg Point is a headland on the south coast and near the west end of South Georgia . It forms the northeast side of the entrance to Johan Harbor .
The South Georgia Survey mapped it between 1956 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after Captain Sinclair Begg, among other things skipper of the whale transporter Coronda from 1933 to 1940 and between 1947 and 1951 manager of the South Georgia Whaling Company at the whaling station Leith Harbor .
