Behaim is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the moon . It lies between Ansgarius craters in the north and Hecateus in the south. In the east-south-east direction you can see the Gibbs crater and in the northeast the small Dale crater .
The inner walls of the crater rim show the remains of old, excavated terraces. The crater rim itself has been eroded by later impacts and has an indentation on the north side that distorts the otherwise circular structure. A central peak rises in the center of the crater floor. A ravine-like notch cuts through the southern rim of the crater and continues south.
