The contributions to the history of the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart were a series of books by the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart , which was founded in 1975 by Wolfgang Kermer and edited and published until its termination in 2004. With this series of publications and the Akademie-Mitteilungen , two of the Academy's publication organs developed "to mirror the contemporary and historical art scene in the country."

The aim of the series should be, as the editor noted in the foreword to the first volume, to include not only the history of the institute, but also “the field of art theory and art education, in short the teachings of the teachers”, because this is the only way to make clear “to what extent the former academy and arts and crafts school and its successor institution, the 'State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart' entrusted by Theodor Heuss with the task of redesigning it after 1945, are to be seen as organisms of diverse and supraregional forces. "

A total of 12 volumes were published in irregular succession, the consistent, straightforward visual appearance of which varies only in the color of the covers, designed by Manfred Kröplien, head of the Institute for Book Design at the Academy, with the collaboration of Horst Wöhrle. In addition, there was a series of workshops from 1996 to 2006 .
