Bejirond

Bejirond (also Bajirond ) was one of the oldest and most influential titles at the court of the Negus Negest ( Emperor ) of Ethiopia . It was introduced at the end of the 14th century. He was initially the emperor's treasurer and enjoyed his great confidence. Later, the function of Wanna Bejirond ( main Bejirond ) was established. He was responsible for the administration of the state finances. The title of the Bejirond corresponded to the dignity of a Dejazmach .
