history
The company was founded in 1982 by Berthold Koch in Düsseldorf under the name "BEKO Condensate Technology GmbH". In the same year, Beko developed the Bekomat, the world's first electronically level-controlled condensate drain. Shortly afterwards, the name “Bekomat” became the generic name for steam traps of this type of function. Towards the end of the 1980s, the company moved its headquarters to Neuss am Rhein and established branches in the United Kingdom and the USA .
In the 1990s, Beko expanded its product range to include compressed air dryers and compressed air filters. Expansions to France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg followed. In 2000, the company was renamed "BEKO TECHNOLOGIES GMBH". In 2007 Beko Technologies expanded its own range of products and services with measurement technology for monitoring compressed air quality and consumption. Company founder Berthold Koch died on October 26th of the same year, shortly after the company's 25th anniversary. In accordance with his wishes, Beko Technologies remained family-owned and management was entrusted to employees from the company.
