Stressful climate

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term stressful climate describes a form of bioclimate that has a rather unfavorable influence on the (human) organism . It causes stress symptoms such as high blood pressure , angina pectoris , sleep disorders or nervous disorders in numerous residents of this region.
The causes herein are both natural conditions such as high humidity , high temperatures with a lack of air exchange, sultriness or hair dryer as well as to civilizing influences such as air pollution with harmful substances.

A stressful climate is thus in contrast to the healing climate . The latter is divided into the gentle climate on the one hand, which has a calming effect on the organism, and the stimulating climate, on the other hand, which has a positive stimulating effect (unless there are health reasons to the contrary).

The pollution climate is regionally limited and often occurs in lowlands (e.g. in the Danube , Rhine , Neckar or Main valley ), on larger lakes ( Lake Constance ) or in metropolitan areas such as the Ruhr area .

The term is also used in materials testing .
