Bele Višnje ( Serbian - Cyrillic Беле Вишње : translated white sour cherries ) was a Yugoslav and later Serbian rock band . The band is considered one of the pioneers of YU rock .

history

1962-1973

The band was founded in Čačak in autumn 1962 by Aleksandar Slaviković "Gušter" ( electric guitar ), Ljubodrag Jovanović ( electric bass ), Zoran Sokić ( keyboard ), Mišo Ilić ( rhythm guitar ), Dragan Maksimović ( drums ), Slobodan Pajić ( vocals ) and Muhamed Hukić (vocals).

During 1963 the band played in their most successful formation with Slaviković, Pajić, Hukić, Sokić (he switched to the electric bass), Stevo Radović (rhythm guitar) and Predrag Radonjić (drums). After Radović joined the band as a composer, they began to compose their own songs. At the first Belgrade Gitarijada Festival on January 9, 1966, Bele Višnje played as the first band and began with a cover of the folk song Crne oči, curo, imaš . The band reached seventh place at the festival and thus had the opportunity to play at larger concerts. In the fall of 1966 Sokić and Pajić left the band due to their studies. In 1966 the band had success with the song Plavokosa , a few years later the song was recorded by Kićo Slabinac under the title Plavuša and he achieved national success with it. Miki Vukadinović joined the band as a new bass guitarist, and they played with him at the second Belgrade Gitarijada Festival on January 23, 1967. The band played a cover of the folk song Moj dilbere and the song Tango , they won 3rd place. During the following years the composition of the band changed several times, so played in the band Slobodan Rabrenović (guitar), Jovan Matijašević (electric bass), Vladimir Šunjevarić (guitar), Zoran Branković (electric bass) and Dragan Todorović (guitar and singing). In 1972 the band recorded their only 7 ″ single , with the songs Čips hit and Čarobne oči . She appeared at Diskoton . After that, the band broke up for a couple of years.

Reunions

In 1990 the band reunited with Vladimir Šunjarević, Stevo Radović, Predrag Radonjić, Slobodan Pajić and Jovan Matijašević. Since there were no recordings of the band from the 1960s, they recorded these old songs in 1994 on the initiative of Radomir Mihajlović Točak, Pesme naše mladosti was released on audio cassette , and a reissue was released on CD in 2005 . In 2010 there was another reunion, they performed in their hometown Čačak to celebrate 50 years of rock music.
