The Proximus Towers ( French : Tours Belgacom or Tours Pléiades , Dutch : Proximus Torens : formerly Belgacom Towers / Tours Belgacom / Tours Pléiades / Belgacom Torens ) are twin towers in Quartier Nord , the central business district of the Belgian capital, Brussels . The buildings take their name from the telecommunications company Belgacom . They are among the tallest buildings in Belgium .

The towers are 134 and 102 meters high, respectively. A Belgian flag is mounted on the spire of Tower 1 . The two towers are connected by a 30 m long glass skybridge between the 25th and 26th floors of the individual buildings. The towers were originally designed as part of the Brussels World Trade Center complex . The idea of a complex of eight buildings was discarded and the Belgacom Towers were planned, designed and built as an independent project. Construction of the towers began in 1994 and was completed in 1996.
