The Belgica Stream is a 1 km long and maximally 40 cm deep river with diffuse branches in the upper reaches of the Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the Byers Peninsula , it flows about 1 km west of the Negro Hill south to the South Beaches , where he close to the Dometa Point in the Bransfield Strait opens. Its bank areas and shallow water zones are populated by cyanobacteria , mosses and green algae .

Spanish scientists named it in 2013 after the mosquito species Belgica antarctica , which can be found here.
