Belgin Doruk (born June 28, 1936 in Ankara , † March 26, 1995 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish actress .

Life

During her school education, Doruk took part in a film competition organized by "Star Magazine". After winning the competition, she began her film career in 1952, which lasted more than 20 years. In 1953 she was second in the Miss Turkey competition and married the director Faruk Kenç , from whom she was later divorced. Most of her films were melodramas that went down well with audiences. Until the mid-1960s, Doruk was one of the most popular actresses in her home country. A series of films about the "Küçük Hanım" ("Little Lady") contributed to this. In 1970 she was awarded the Golden Orange for Best Actress at the "Antalya Film Şenliği" ; two years later she turned her back on active acting.

She died in Istanbul in 1995 of heart disease.
